HAMDEN, Conn. -- Police said that a Thursday traffic stop led to the discovery of 5 pounds of marijuana.
An officer attempted to stop the car on Bowen Street in Hamden for a having darkly tinted windows, according to police.
Police said the driver initially refused to stop, but then eventually stopped on Dixwell Avenue.
was driving without a license, registration or insurance card, according to police.
Police said when Dixon stepped out of the car, a bag of crack cocaine fell from his pocket. The estimated street value of the drug was $250, according to police.
A search of Dixon's car revealed more than 5 pounds of marijuana in the trunk, worth an estimated $44,800 on the street, according to police.
Dixon was arrested and faces numerous charges including possession of narcotics with intent to sell.
He is being held on a $100,000 bond and is expected to appear in Meriden court on Aug. 17.
