Couple questions for those on the job...

1. Some State/Municipal agencies allow military "buybacks"(up to 4 years), does the DOC allow this as well?

2. For a CPO, does anyone know if there are incentives for time served (i.e. longevity pay)?

3. Can my retirement from another municipality roll over into the DOC one?

I'm asking as this will be a new career for me, and with other options, just trying to get the best information before I decide. I also didn't think it prudent to ask in an interview environment. It would be nice to walk in the door with almost 10 years of service and leave the private sector behind for good.

Thanks in advance.

Just the Medical and PT test left, passed the interview, pretty basic. Apparently they are trying to squeeze the CPO's from Wednesday interviews in the Sept. 10 class. I believe it's already been posted, but there was a disclaimer at the Academy that the fitness standards are scrapped until "further review". Also, they are trying to fill 150 CO's and 15 CPO's (I asked, and that's what they told me). Everyone I met during the process so far were very courteous, informative and overall very pleasant.

Thanks again...
