MILTON - A Libby Road woman with a lot of ‘‘moxie’’ led police to three men alleged to have broken into her neighbor’s home.

The woman saw the men park a gray Honda Accord and walk to the rear of a house while the owner was away, calling the police at 11:40 a.m. Tuesday.

But before officers arrived, the men returned to their car and drove off.

The woman got in her own car, followed them, read the Honda’s license plate number and reported it to police by cell phone.

Fifteen minutes later, Sgt. Jack Richman spotted the car on Adams Street. Officers converged on the area, blocked the car in with their cruisers and arrested the three men.

‘‘This woman had a lot of moxie,’’ said acting Police Chief Paul Nolan. ‘‘Without her following these people and getting a plate number, there probably would have been no arrest.’’

Charged with breaking and entering and larceny of more than $260 were Johnny Lee, 29, of 32 Ferndale Road, Quincy, Gregory Lupos, 41, of Brockton and Jiong Qin Nei, 33, of Boston.

They allegedly broke a window screen to enter the house, Nolan said.

Jewelry, including some taken from the Libby Road home, was found in their car, Nolan said.
