Several suspects in stabbing, drug offenses rounded up
By Patriot Ledger staff
BRAINTREE - A Yarmouth man wanted in a South Boston home invasion and stabbing was arrested at the Motel 6 on Union Street, one of five arrests at the motel in the past week.

Anthony Giangergario, 45, was charged with home invasion and assault with intent to murder.

Boston, Braintree and State Police arrested Giangergario at about 4 a.m. Saturday at the Motel 6 after learning he was staying there, Deputy Braintree Police Chief Russell Jenkins said.

Giangergario allegedly smashed a window at a West 5th Street home with a piece of lumber at about 1:45 a.m., then ran in the front door and stabbed the male victim, Boston police said.

He fled in gray vehicle.

The victim was taken to Boston Medical Center. His wounds were not life-threatening, police said.

Giangergario and the victim had argued on the phone prior to the assault, police said.

Five people have been arrested at the motel since Thursday, when Scott D. Shepherd, 29, of Quincy was taken into custody on an OxyContin possession charge.

‘‘Detectives Brian Cohoon and Jeffrey Jernegan observed him pull into the parking lot, engage in several cell phone conversations and ultimately meet up with the occupants of a Ford Explorer,’’ Jenkins said. Shepherd walked to the Explorer and ‘‘appeared to engage in some sort of transaction through the open window,’’ Jenkins said.

When police stopped Shepherd as he drove away, he blurted out that he knew what they were looking for and that he had an OxyContin pill in his pocket, Jenkins said.

Sunday morning, Detective David Jordan, working a private detail at the motel, arrested Chrystal A. Harmon, 23, of Roxbury, on a marijuana possession charge after she entered the parking lot with her car stereo blaring.

When Jordan approached Harmon, he saw a plastic bag containing marijuana on the center console of her Nissan Maxima and arrested her, Jenkins said.
On Monday morning, two guests at the motel were arrested on warrants.

Jashawn D. Tate, 36, of Boston was wanted on charges of cocaine trafficking and carrying a firearm without a license.

Archie Powell, 57, who said he was homeless, was wanted on a charge of failing to return leased property.
