LACONIA, N.H. -- Police said a man sexually assaulted three girls over several years while working as a youth leader at a local church.
Gary Boisvert was arraigned on charges related to two of the girls in Laconia District Court on Monday. He will be arraigned on charges related to the other girl in August.
Police said that Boisvert assaulted the girls at the Seventh Day Adventist Church and also when he gave one of the girls a ride from her home to the church. They said he assaulted the girls over the past five years.
"He has been arrested on another sexual assault charge," prosecutor Jim Sawyer said. "It's a third victim in the year 2007. So the charges as indicated go for five years at this point."
Investigators said that Boisvert would massage the girls' feet and then rub their feet against his groin. The girls were 9 and 10 years old at the time of the first assault, police said.
Defense attorney Marshall Hickock said that the charges are only accusations.
"My understanding, even as alleged publicly, is generally, all acts were said to occur with others present," Hickock said. "I guess we will see as the facts unfold."
Speaking at a news conference, police and a member of the Belknap County Attorney's Office said their investigation is continuing, and there is the possibility of more victims.
"Not only any more victims, but if anybody else has any more information in regards to this investigation, we are actively continuing the investigation and encourage anyone to come forward," Lt. William Clary said.
