(remember, Im not a cop. Im a HELP unit for the Troopers)

Its a bright sunny morning, and our shift is about to end. My partner unit 5224 calls me to meet him on the upper deck, so we can leave the are together. Since Im already in the area, I head up the now.

"Lou, Im up here, when you get a shot get your tail up here,, its 9:25."

"I'll be there in a minute"

"OK"

Just as he heads for the upper deck, our friends at H4 who rarely need us, chime in.

"H4, to anyone one of the HELP units if your still on the air?"

"5224 is still on"

"Sir, can you do me a favor, there is a small 16 (accident)re you head to the upper deck. They say its just a paper swap, but the 2 are connected at the bumper. Can you go see what you can do?"

"5224, recieved, sure no problem, enroute"

Well now Im realizing Im going to be here a few extra minutes, cause Lord only knows how these things happen the way they do. A simple gas call, can end up in a fricken chase or something. Somebody hears a Trooper chime in on the radio, and everyone gets all jittery. Stupid people. But this didnt seem to be the case. In fact, after getting on scene, he calls me by nextel, to have me go to him for help. He cant get them seperated.
Ok, getting the message, I start for 93 N, and make a turn at the Medford exit to go south again. Um, its ok, its only 9:35, not bad on time. About have way, my side kick gives me a call, and lets me know he has the cars seperated. OH GREAT!! Now I hope he thows the cars off the upperdeck, cause im stuck in traffic now. But thats allright. People, will have my morning, truely pumped up before I leave this god for saken highway.
Thats when I notice three people standing out of there cars, above Causway street. One female is looking serious but fine. The male just looked stupid, and the last female is crying beyond words.

"5225 to H4, 93 s, just above Causeway st, I have people out of there cars, will advise."

"25. thank you."
-----------------

"I hope you people have a real good excuse for this""Whats going on?"

"BOOHOOOO!!, wail, cry ,sob, sniff-sniff and the rest"

"Ma'm, Im good at alot of things, but I havnt yet mastered crying yet, calm down becuase I dont understand you. Whats wrong?"

Well, not understanding a word she is saying, this little game of "what the f@ck you doing here" goes on for another 2 minutes. Ok, maybe 1 minute but who was counting. finally she mutters the word "dead"

"Ma'm, did you just say dead?" "Who is dead. Still not making sense

But I did realize, she kept looking over the side, down on to Causeway street. CRAP!!

"Ma'm did somebody jump!?!?" Well not getting an answer but tears, I had to contact H4.

"5225 to H4, I have no visual, but it seems I have someone jump off 93 down to Causway. She's crying hard, and not making any sense, but thats what I understand so far. I also need a unit up here with me as well."

"H4 recieved, any unit near 93 south near Causeway, assist unit 25". All other units, down on to Causway." Starting fire and EMS."

"Recieved thank you."
Through out this whole ordeal, I see two cars in the left lane in a 2 car. I called that in. I still had more crying. Morethis more that. But to find out what happened, the 2 cars belonged to the females. They were in a 16, one gets out to fight the first one, but left the door open, allowing a small puppy out. Which in return, jumped over the side to Causeway street. Now I know, why they are there, and whats going on. I call H4 to let them know , this is a og, not a human who had jumped over. I still didnt have a visual.
Well now, if anybody knows the HELP units, knows we also keep in contact with T.O.C (not sure what it means) who operates the cameras on highways etc, chimes in on my nextel.

"Dave, whats going on there" (Im glad it was that familiar voice. We always got along, though I never met him)

"TOC, Im figuring it out, trust me, I'll definetly let you know, just give me a moment to secure the area"

"Sure, no problem Dave, just let...Hey Dave turn around, shes trying to climb over!"

Just a I whip around, I see the female trying to grab onto the side and was trying to climb over.

"MA"M WHAT THE HELL DO YOU THINK YOUR DOING!!"GET OVER HERE!!"
I grab onto her and through her down on the ground. But YA!! Here comes a cruiser, lights sirens and all. Thank the lord for assistance and the invention of 2way radios. And Im also getting my partner 24 coming in tow. As well as Fire, Ems and units down below. Its Christmas! Ok, maybe not Christmas, but close enough.
The SGT (never met this one) comes out of his cruiser and comes over to us. (ppst, the females behavior changes a little....a little) Between us, we managed to get a little more secure up here, and things start to make sense for all. (just finding out, this female is a sister to a Trooper. great, now Im sick) But dont get me wrong, she is still irrational. Yes, the tears are still rolling. But here was a twist for me. Fire, and EMS, have left the scene, and animal something, had pulled up below. Poor dog never had a chance. 10 minutes have gone by. Oh well.
But anyway, the SGT allows for 5224, to transport the female down below, so she could see the dog. But before she gets there, the radio blabs something like this.

"H4, this is unit ----(dont remember #), the dog has deseased at the time. The dog died."
5224, tells me later, when she heard that, she was kicking the crap out of his dash , and was flipping out. He just yelled at her to chill out. Ya right.
The SGT and I are on top of 93 still, and we look down to see 24, pull up and the female juped out of his moving truck toward the dog. A Trooper attemped to grab her, but was too late. She slips on her butt (winter time) because of ice and slides into dog. She picks up her dog and starts wailing. I would like to tell ya, what else happedned, but too gross. I got dog answers, and dog comments on everything from friends for 2 months. Go out to lunch........I'll have a cheeseburger, and he will have a bowl of dog food. Oh he doesnt sweat, he has no sweat glands. Hey Dave, you still licking your @#$!&. Dave sniff mine.
