By The Patriot Ledger HULL - A Randolph man has been arrested after an altercation at a basketball court that ended with four people sent to the hospital, two with stab wounds.
Darren Martin, 18, was charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, assault to murder, disorderly conduct, disturbing the peace, and assault and battery, Police Capt. Robert Sawtelle said.
Sawtelle said Martin was identified as the assailant of one of the stabbing victims.
A 16-year-old juvenile from North Easton was also arrested and charged with possession of ammunition, which was found in his vehicle, Sawtelle said.
Police received a report shortly before 10 p.m. Wednesday about a fight at the Kenberma basketball courts on Nantasket Ave., at Nantasket Road.
Sawtelle said that when police arrived they found a large group of youths, and that there were four assault victims, two with stab wounds.
All four victims were taken to South Shore Hospital, with apparent non-life-threatening injuries, Sawtelle said.
Two of the victims had been released as of this morning, and the others were expected to be released today, he said.
The two stabbing victims were age 18 and 19, he said, with the other two assault victims age 17 and 19.
Martin was arrested in Weymouth, by Hull police, tracked down following a description of his vehicle, Sawtelle said.
Martin was released last night and was due to be arraigned today in Hingham District Court.
Sawtelle said police anticipate other individuals will be charged in connection with the incident.
