Prosecutor blasts Hutchins as ‘mastermind’ in 2006 killing of Iraqi man

By MARK WALKER The North County Times Marine Sgt. Lawrence Hutchins III of Plymouth carefully planned the murder of an innocent Iraqi and led seven men under his command in committing the deed, a military jury was told Tuesday. Lt. Col. John Baker told the panel that Hutchins must be held accountable for "killing in cold blood."
The North County Times - a daily newspaper based in Escondido, Calif., about 30 miles north of San Diego - is providing The Patriot Ledger with regular reports from Camp Pendleton following the Hutchins court-martial.
