Is anyone using Nortel Phones as there in house phone system, and are the phones being recorded on the 911 Vesta Pallas/ Eyretel Recording system? The reason I ask is because we switched this week from a Merlin phone system to a Nortel Phone system. The Nortel system is a digital system, and the recorders only pick up analog signals. If you have the new 911 system you will notice that the actual phone is a Nortel, but then the signal is changed into an analog signal through the "audio control converter", which is a black box located near the phone. This converter cost around 2,000 so we are looking for any other solutions. If you have any ideas please let me know. Thanks for your help

I'm not familiar with how to go about recording lines and such since I used to work on them in a business and not a public safety setting...but, if your incoming lines are analog I would assume they could just be tapped into at the incoming point (and capture all the lines that way), rather than a call at an individual phone...I would assume also that if it were a trunk line, some business out there makes a solution to record all calls off of it...
