BOSTON -- Police are investigating after two people were shot in Fitchburg late Wednesday night.
One of the victims may have been pregnant, neighbors said.
The shots rang out at about 10 p.m. at 42 Prichard St., right around the corner from the Fitchburg Police Department. Police said the victims were a man and a woman, but their names were not released.
Two ambulances were sent to the scene but the victims were taken by helicopter instead and their injuries were said to be serious.
