SPRINGFIELD, MASSACHUSETTS (WWLP) A Springfield man arrested after an all day stand-off with police has been ordered held without right to bail. 44-year-old Victor Velasquez was arrested Tuesday afternoon after police used pepper spray to force him from a the third floor bedroom at 568 Chestnut Street in Springfield. Velasquez, barricaded himself in the house after allegedly stabbing another man during an apparent robbery attempt. Velasquez, a level three sex offender, was originally ordered held on $150,000 bail, but the judge ordered him held without right to bail due to a parole violation. He pleaded innocent to numerous charges including armed robbery and armed assault to murder. Velasquez returns to court on August 24th.
