HANOVER - Police say they busted a drug distribution operation on the South Shore that supplied cocaine to ‘‘higher-end’’ users. Seven people have been arrested and officers seized 110 grams of cocaine, $7,300, two vehicles and 13 bags of heroin.

The arrests started Friday outside the Hanover Mall with one man backing his car into an unmarked police cruiser and another dumping drugs from his pockets as he tried to flee on foot, police said. Two more arrests were made that night in Marshfield, and a tip that a drug deal was coming down led to the arrest of two more people Monday night in Hanover.

In all, four people from Marshfield and three from Boston were arrested. Police believe the arrests struck at several drug distributors who supplied the area with cocaine and heroin.

For several months, a task force of officers from the Hanover, Marshfield, Duxbury, Pembroke and Scituate police departments and the State Police have been watching a Marshfield apartment and several Boston residents suspected of supplying drugs to the South Shore.

The alleged cocaine distributors were arrested Monday after police were tipped off that a delivery was in progress, said Hanover Police Detective Jonathan Abban.

Celeida Perez, of 52 Rosa St., Hyde Park, was arrested and charged with drug trafficking in excess of 100 grams, and conspiracy. She was held on $25,000 bail following her arraignment Tuesday in Hingham District Court.

Perez, an illegal alien, entered the United States in Miami in August 1999 and was supposed to return to Venezuela that October. Her last known address was in Missouri, Marshfield Police Lt. Phil Tavares said.

The driver of the van in which she was riding also was arrested, charged with drug trafficking and conspiracy and held on $25,000 bail. Tavares said the driver had a Massachusetts driver’s license with a false name and was wanted in Lawrence for drug violations. Police believe he is from the Dominican Republic.

Police seized their van, 110 grams of cocaine and several cell phones, Abban said. Police believed the two were headed to Hanover to meet a client, who would then sell the drugs locally, they said.

Police on Friday had arrested two Marshfield residents and a Boston man at the Hanover Mall. Two other Marshfield residents were arrested at their apartment several hours later.

Police were monitoring locations in Marshfield, Hanover and Pembroke on Friday evening when officers saw a delivery take place outside the Hanover Mall at about 6:30 p.m.

Police said they saw Marc A. Marchant, 29, of Marshfield, get into the car of Alexander M. DeJesus, 26, of Roxbury. As officers approached, Marchant got out of DeJesus’ car and started running away, dumping drugs out of his pockets as he ran, police said.
Police said DeJesus backed his car into an unmarked police car and Bradford C. Bowley, 30, of Marshfield, who had driven Marchant to the scene, drove over a traffic island.

All three were arrested, police said.
