Illegal aliens wanted on federal Immigration Customs Enforcement warrants, both having allegedly ignored deportation hearing orders after being flagged by Texas border patrol in 2005, were arrested by police in Ashland and Holliston.
The arrests were part of the federal immigration sting that netted a total of six illegals Thursday night and Friday morning. The Ashland and Holliston police departments used the Live Scan system to learn detainer warrants were out for two Framingham men, who are slated to be picked up by ICE authorities.
Everaldo Solva Junior, 26, was arrested by Ashland officers after a traffic stop on Union Street at 6:30 p.m. Friday, police said. During booking, it was discovered Junior, of 35 Frederick St., was wanted for deportation.
"Apparently, he was stopped at the border once before," said dispatcher Mark Byron. "Once we fingerprinted him, up the information came."
Junior was charged by Ashland Police with speeding and operating without a license. He allegedly presented officers with a falsified Brazilian driver's license.
During a Washington Street traffic stop around 10:30 p.m. Saturday, Holliston Police arrested a Framingham man wanted on warrants from Milford District Court for traffic violations and ICE for deportation.
Wanderson Aredes-Leal, 23, told officers he was 27-year-old Randerson Soares. That information was disproved during booking when police used fingerprint technology that links them with a federal criminal database, according to police.
"After they did the Live Scan, the fingerprints indicated that he truly is Wanderson Aredes-Leal," Sgt. Mark Lewis said.
Police learned Aredes-Leal, of 19 East St., Framingham, had been stopped by border patrol in 2005 in Rio Grande City, Texas, for alien removal.
"The fingerprints don't lie," Lewis said. "That's the moral of the story and it's becoming quite common."

Good work, I'm just not too sure why this is newsworthy....ICE detainers aren't exactly a rare thing these days, and they're not actually warrants.

yeah but for the most part it gets outta the $200 cash 90/10 & go home they pay the framingham district court. in that part of metrowest 90/10 is all you do on the framingham sides of towns. Call that 1800 ice number and take them to court & let the sheriffs pick them up @ Framingham District Court.

It is nice to see that ICE is doing something. Too bad Congress can't put thier oh so smart heads together and come up with some decent imigration laws and standards.
