Standoff: Officer Shot, Hostage Held in House

A police officer in Vancouver, Wash. is injured in a standoff with a man holed up in a house. It's believed the man has taken a hostage. The incident started after officers arrived as part of an investigation.

A man who police believe tortured an endangered tortoise by trying to cut him out of his shell and throwing him against a wall was arrested Thursday. (July 20)
