Phillip Morris: Polensek's letter is inappropriate
Thursday, July 19, 2007 Phillip Morris The Plain Dealer
Councilman Michael D. Po lensek first met Arsenio Winston last year, when he stopped by the R.J. Taylor playground in response to constituent complaints about broken glass and drug dealing.
The long-serving Collinwood leader walked up to a group of young black men including Arsenio and introduced himself. Polensek told them of the complaints. He asked them to help keep the park clean.
Arsenio, then 17, refused to shake hands, according to Polensek. He stared down the diminutive, white councilman, and suggested that he kiss his "black" posterior.
Funny how mom is taking the he is a great kid stance....typical.
I guess he is pretty outspoken.... I found another one of his comments about the city building inspectors....
Recently, he compared city inspectors to blind people. "Stevie Wonder could see some of this stuff," he said
This is pretty funny stuff, it would be refreshing to see that around here.

Excellent! I see mommy has deployed "The Race Card (TM)" and has written letters to the Urban League, NAACP and Reverend Al Sharpton...I wonder if they'll publish her letters...

Interesting how the editorial puts more focus on Polensek's letter being "inappropriate" and saying a counsilor "should not stoop" to making such incendiary statements. Congratulations to Polensek for being brutally honest and saying what the good citizens are thinking but often afraid to say.
We now live in a world where folks are more concerned about the "feelings" of the criminal. I know of an officer who is under investigation simply because he asked an uncooperative known felon, "Why would you do something crazy like that?" The felon was offended and felt the officer was calling him crazy... ugh!
Wake up, America!!!

We'll never get those kind of balls on one of our Pols, they are too interested in there own agenda to ever go out on a limb and call it like it is.

I saw this guy on fox news today.... he was saying all this politically correct talk has run its course. He said he was exercising his 1st Amendment rights.=D> It is about time if you asked me. The councilman stayed on for the next segment with two lawyers, who were saying that the kid hadn't been convicted yet. I am glad this guy is stepping up. It is a refreshing change for an elected official to rock the boat a bit.
