LTC Question - 90 day

(Click here to view the original thread on the MassCops Message Board)

I dropped off my renewal application for my LTC.. and was advised that they are not doing interviews at this time.. so my question to the records woman was, - my LTC expires in a few weeks, what am I supposed to do when I need the LTC to carry for work. She replied that the state realized that problem and allowed a 90 day allowance to get a new LTC. So basically even though mine expires in a few weeks, I have 90 days after my birthday to get it done..

Just wondering if anyone has the mgl that this falls under or is it by town?

Thank you for your help.

I think also by law they have 60 days to process it or have to give you a reason why you did not get it in 60 days.
Many towns have taken this 90 day grace period to mean THEY have 90 days which is entirely untrue.
You are good for 90 days as long as your renewal is in before your expiration date.

I'd just drop GOAL a line about which town it is that's "not conducting interviews" at this time. They keep track of this stuff and work towards normalizing the renewal and issuance policies. Legally there isn't a requirement for an "interview", you drop off the app, get your fingerprints, provide two photos...that's it.
