Will the Boston Housing Authority ever hire again? How do they hire if they do? Very busy if I hear right.

Posted by: HousingCop

We did just hire 4.
Sorry, but I think it's BHA PD policy not to hire anybody with anus in their Masscops screename. HC

thanks for the cheap/funny shot. Where do you guys advertise the positions or is it whose ever dad knows a city councilor best(No offense this is MA, how it works somehow). In lieu of your cheap shot my hat goes off to you as from when I see you guys your constantly busy

It was posted in this bulletin board a few months back along with a couple of community newspapers in Boston. About 10 people signed up and took the exam. You needed to have a full MA academy or get an MPTC waiver for an out of state academy as well. Pretty good odds at getting the job with the last test, all things considered.

Sorry about the cheap shot. Your left was down so I had to throw an overhand right.

Monitor lizards are the family Varanidae, a group of lizards which includes the largest living lizard, the Komodo Dragon. Varanidae contains only a single genus: Varanus.

i'm i close ?

pahapoika: you got it, nice work
Housing cop: Do they send to a MPTC academy or do they play the Campus game and try to recruit people with academies already. Also, do you guys contract any servvices out to Longwood? Ive seen them around some of your property before, just passing through?

I was a BHA cop for 6 years, awesome job to get the full-time academy and a ton of experience. However, the iffy funding from year to year and sometimes silly political games made me want to leave after a few years (no offense HC).

When I was there, the CBA had a no-contracting out clause, I assume it's still in effect.

Longwood security does not patrol any of the BHA projects that I know of. I'm pretty sure they're at Harbor Point but that is privately managed; I assume they patrol under contract of privately managed housing complexes.

so, they do send people to academy or just hope to score those with academies?

Posted by: Macop

When I was hired back in 02 a F/t academy was required. May be different now.I don't know.

The BHA used to routinely send recruits to the F/T academy but have not done so in a few years. They will most likely only consider applicants with F/T academies for any openings.
