Girl Died In Car Crash

E. BROOKFIELD, Mass. -- Acquittal for a Warren, Mass., man charged with allowing a teenage girl to drink at his home shortly before she died in a car crash.

Mark Holly had been charged under the state's social host law because authorities alleged he knew there were underaged drinkers at a party at his home.

But it took a six-person jury in Western Worcester District Court just one-hour Tuesday to clear Holly, 48, who cried and hugged his wife after the verdict was read.
He faced a year in jail if convicted.

Police said Autumn Motyka, 20, and Abbigayle Perrin, 19, had been drinking at Holly's home in December 2005 shortly before their car was involved in a crash that killed Perrin.

Motyka, the driver, has pleaded not guilty to motor vehicle homicide.

I can't believe he was aquitted. The man is known for parties at his house. He doesn't discriminate. They can be any age. Meanwhile, the officer who investigated gets proscecuted by the press. I love the justice system.

I'm sure the "preponderance of the evidence" will hurt a lot more than any conviction.

Yet another absolutely disgusting verdict!! While I'm certain that it wasn't the first time Ms. Motyka drank or drove under the influence, Mark Holly needs to be held accountable for aiding her access to alcohol!! Absolutely deplorable...

Hopefully, Motyka will get more than 5 years....
