any idea why they would be recruiting up here? it cant be that good in santa fe, especially with all these incentives

I think the main reason they're recruiting up this way is the shortage of "qualified" recruits in the NM area. At least that's what I understand after talking with a couple guys who work out that way. The PT standards might be tough for some too. Someone in my age group needs to run the 1.5 in about 12 min. In NM it goes up to about 1306 due to the altitude... that's what the recruiting officer told me. Either way, I figured I'd give it a shot on monday.

yeah i cant make it because of work, but i dont think i could hack that 1.5 in 12 min, im still in college recovery mode getting back into the gym and working on my fitness. anyway i just wanted to see what was up with that unusual ad.

Judging by how far Santa Fe is from here, I'd say desperation...that's what's up with it.

...out of the 30+ people who showed up last week, only 7 made it. Good thing I was one of 'em

you're gonna go to Santa Fe? well good luck

yeah, well i figured "why not?" . I got of the military last Dec. so i'm used to relocating. And with the civil service process they have in place for around here, I figured my chances are much better out west at this point. I have a test coming up for a department in VT., and I have an interview in Knoxville TN. next monday (my sis lives there) so we'll see. It's a long process and I don't exactly have my bags packed for NM just yet
