Robbery Estimated To Cost Prospect Restaurant $5,000
PROSPECT, Conn. -- Offering cash for information about crimes is nothing new. But tacos?
One Mexican restaurant said it will give 500 tacos to anyone who provides information about the identity of a burglar who broke in, shattered a door and stole a cash register.
Seņor Pancho's owner Andy Adames was inspired by a marketing class. "We're just using some humor to get some feedback," said Marisa Daddona, a part owner.
Daddona estimated that the break-in cost $5,000. A security camera showed a man with a shaved head and tattoo smashing a side door with a rock about 1:30 a.m. June 26. He stole a cash register drawer of money and tried to remove a computer cash register.
He also unplugged a power line, shutting down two full freezers and causing all of the food inside to spoil.
So what would a tipster do with 500 tacos?
"Have a Mexican fiesta in the backyard," Daddona said.
