FREMONT, Calif. - Police are looking for two men who reportedly threw a can of energy drink at a gas station clerk, striking him in the face, then made off with a box of condoms.
The two suspects entered the mini-mart of a U.S. Gasoline station early Monday morning, Sgt. Chris Mazzone said. One went to the drink cooler, while the other went to the counter and asked to purchase condoms, Mazzone said.
The man at the counter haggled with the clerk over the condoms' price, Mazzone said. Moments later, the other man emerged from the cooler with three cans of energy drink, one of which he threw at the clerk, hitting him in the face.
The other robber then snatched the box of condoms from the clerk's hand, and both men sped off in a dark green Toyota Camry, Mazzone said.
Authorities located the getaway vehicle but have made no arrests, Mazzone said.
