SANBORNTON, N.H. --It started with a driver being stopped for a littering ticket and ended with a chase and drug charges.
New Hampshire State Police say a Plymouth officer stopped Mark Clermont, 32, of Dracut, Mass., Friday night to write a littering ticket. Police say Clermont sped off after the officer found that his license was suspended.
State police began chasing Clermont at more than 90 mph down Interstate 93. Troopers put out spike mats, deflating Clermont's tires in Sanbornton.
Troopers say they found a large amount of marijuana, narcotics and cash in the car.
Clermont is charged with reckless conduct, possession of drugs with intent to sell, being a habitual driving offender and disobeying a police officer.
