Woman allegedly takes juveniles 'ding dong ditching'

A female driver was stopped on Plum Street for traveling the wrong way on a one-way street. The officer also observed a group of juveniles run to and enter the vehicle before the stop. There were six juveniles in the vehicle — three 12-year-old girls, a 12-year-old boy and two 15-year-old boys. One of the girls was the driver's daughter. The driver said she took the juveniles bowling. The officer told the driver he saw the kids running in the street and jump in her van. The driver said she let them go to a friend's house to see if he wanted to come with the group.
The officer pointed out that 1:40 a.m. wasn't the time to have kids trying to contact their friends. The driver was unable to answer who the kid was or where he lived. The officer spoke to the kids individually and they said they did go bowling with the driver. They then went around town ringing their friend's doorbells and then running back to the driver's vehicle.
The officer also learned the group has been doing this for three or four weeks. The kids confirmed the subject always drives them around town for "ding dong ditching." The father of one of the boys was contacted. He wanted charges filed against the subject.
The kids and the subject were transported to the police department. The kids were released to their parents and charged with violating curfew. The 34-year-old subject admitted to doing this.
The subject received three charges of contributing to the unruliness of a minor and traffic violations.
