A man accused of threatening a woman with a gun and trying to steal her car in a parking lot is scheduled for arraignment this morning in Lynn District Court. John Jumper, 47, of Saugus, is charged with attempted car-jacking, assault and battery, and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, State Police said. Jumper allegedly approached a woman's car about 2:30 p.m. Saturday in the Circuit City parking lot on Lynn Fells Parkway, pointed a handgun in her face, and ordered her to get out of her Honda Accord. Her screams attracted nearby shoppers, who ran toward the car. The gunman fled into nearby woods, State Police Lieutenant Eric Anderson said. State and local police searched the area for hours, and, following a tip, arrested Jumper at a home in Saugus shortly after 9 p.m.
