NORTH ADAMS — Police announced yesterday that "Operation All in the Family" — an ongoing investigation of midlevel and street-level family-operated drug rings — has netted 11 arrests in Pittsfield, Adams and North Adams.
The arrests, which took place yesterday and Tuesday, stemmed from numerous purchases made by undercover officers.
"We did a good investigation," Lt. Joseph McDyer, a Massachusetts State Police officer and a coordinator for the Berkshire County drug task force, said yesterday. "We found out who was dealing, and we had a lot of sources."
At 2 p.m. yesterday, the task force arrested Timothy Carnute, 24, of 6 Atlantic Ave., in Pittsfield. He was charged with two counts of distribution of cocaine, a subsequent offense, and two counts of conspiracy to violate the Controlled Substances Act.
Carnute was arrested "near his residence," McDyer said.
At 6 a.m. Tuesday, police arrested Michael Williams, 34, his wife, Jennifer L. Williams, 28, and John E. White, 50, all of 142 Summer St., Adams. The Williamses were both charged with two counts of distribution of cocaine and one count of conspiracy to violate drug laws.
White, Jennifer Williams' father, was charged with six counts of cocaine distribution, three counts of violation of a drug-free school zone and six counts of conspiracy to violate the Controlled Substances Act.
An arrest warrant has been issued, for similar charges, for John D. White, a fourth family member.
John E. White was arraigned Tuesday at Northern Berkshire District Court, where he was held on $5,000 cash bail. Michael Williams was held on $20,000 cash bail. Jennifer Williams, also arraigned on Tuesday, was released on personal recognizance.
