I heard the Gov. put another hiring freeze on SP. Civilian dispatchers any one know if its true or how long the freeze might be? I think the new fiscal year starts in July wonder if that has anything to do with it. I heard New Braintree was hiring one and then got told they couldnt hire anymore because of the freeze and they're short staffed. Anyone heard anything?

All that I heard was that the freeze is only temporary. The SP are so desperate for dispatchers. It wont be to long because they cannot continue to go without coverage. We will see.

Thanks for the info. I figure it has to do with the budget.

The budget or taking money and spending it somewhere else, like new furniture for the office, or a brand new cadillac!!!!!

or fuel for the helicopter or healthcare for the illegals etc.

Delayed response - apparently, due to the change in administration, a "freeze" was put on hiring. This, I'm told, is just plain something that happens when a new Governor is elected.
Now, why Devals' pal in HR downtown keeps deliberately holding up the OK to hire..... is yet another State political "I have power to phuck with you so I will" and is detrimental to everything but her ego.
If government would just plain be replaced with a hundred or so people with the stones to actually DO something...... we'd all be better of.
In any case, since Princess Ego is unilaterally holding up the ok to transfer and backfill at GHQ, the powers that be are contemplating reposting the troop dispatch positions to hire outsiders, and when the wussy union complains, direct them to Princess Ego for an explaination...... or Howie Carr.
No wonder state employees get a rep - this kind of crap.
