Closing Date 6/18/2007 Salary Description Starting salary is $51,021 annually and $61,927 after one year. Description The Wethersfield Police Department, an internationally accredited law enforcement agency, is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Police Officer Requirements Eligible candidates include entry level non-POSTC certified personnel as well as POSTC certified personnel. Preference will be given to POSTC certified personnel. Successful candidates must be 21 years of age at time of appointment, U.S. citizen, possess a high school diploma or equivalent GED, and a valid motor vehicle operator's license. Candidates must not have been convicted of any felony, any class A or class B misdemeanor or have committed any act which would constitute perjury or false statement. Candidates must successfully complete a thorough background investigation, polygraph examination, psychological interview and comprehensive medical examination including drug screening. Candidates must be or will be non-smokers during the course of employment with the Town of Wethersfield. Additional Information The written examination is scheduled for Saturday, June 23, 2007.
