Can I please ask everyone to pray for John Bish. He was stricken ill last night and was life flighted to UMASS in Worcester. He is in grave condition. This man and his foundation have worked countless hours in the protection of our children. So please pray for him and his family. Thank you.

(WBZ) WORCESTER The father of Molly Bish is in intensive care after suffering a stroke over the weekend - nearly seven years after his daughter was kidnapped.

58-year-old John Bish had been complaining of headaches recently and after a visit to the doctor learned that there was some bleeding in his brain.

His wife Magi said he had the stroke at home Sunday and fell on the floor.

He was rushed to UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester in critical condition with massive bleeding in the brain.

16-year-old Molly Bish disappeared from her Comins Pond lifeguard post in Warren on June 27, 2000. Her remains were found on a remote hillside in Palmer in 2003. Police have yet to find her killer.

John and Magi Bish have been outspoken advocates of child protection laws since Molly's disappearance.

John Bish's Condition Improves

Bish Suffered Stroke Earlier This Month

WORCESTER, Mass. -- John Bish has been upgraded from critical to serious condition.

The father of Molly Bish, the Warren teenager who disappeared in 2000, suffered a stroke June 15.

John Bish and his wife, Magdelen, have been advocates for missing and exploited children since Molly, 16, vanished from her lifeguard post at Comins Pond on June 27, 2000.
Her remains were found three years later near the Warren-Palmer line.

Nobody was ever charged in Molly's disappearance or death, and a grand jury investigating the case was dismissed in December 2006 by former Worcester District Attorney John Conte.

The Springfield Republican reported that John Bish's condition was upgraded Saturday at UMass Medical Center in Worcester.

A memorial service marking the seventh year of Molly's disappearance will go on as planned Wednesday.

Like this family hasn't had enough anguish thrust upon them.
Keep the prayers going for Mr. (and Mrs.) Bish.

John Bish is one the finest people I've ever had the privilege of meeting...I searched through the woods twice during our time at the SPA for his daughter and he took the time to personally thank every police officer there...my hopes and prayers to him and his family.
