ELLICOTT CITY, Md. — Howard County police arrested a student who brought a loaded gun to school this morning. The 15-year-old student at Howard High School in Ellicott City is charged with possession of a concealed deadly weapon and possession of a handgun on school property. Police say they don't think teen "was seeking to injure anyone at this time." They say the boy was involved in a dispute with other students and may have been carrying the weapon for that reason. A teacher reported that several students had told her they'd heard the suspect telling someone that he had a gun. A county police officer took the student out of a class and checked him for weapons, finding the loaded gun in the student's waistband. Police say the teen also had a magazine with ammunition in his pants pocket.
