I never heard of them, but then again, why would I.
LA Copper any comments?
@ 1st i thought it was Lower Alabama county police!! j/k

I believe they're kinda like the Federal Protective Service, responsible for county buildings and property. Not exactly the type of job I'd move across country for.

I never heard of them either, it appears they are newly created by combining existing agencies. Normally an area would have a county sheriff who's function includes patrol or a county police, when the sheriff's are more restricted to corrections than law enforcement. Not in MA, CT or RI of course.

I looked into that PD a few yars ago, they are under the same idea as munis only with full powers and they pretty much have any specialized unit you can think of and do pretty much what ever they want. I withdrew my application when Civil Service came a knocking

You are correct, they are kinda like the Boston Municipal Police, excpet they patrol L.A. County properties only. They handle County parks and buildings and such... They are also allowed to do your version of Chapter 90.

They can't necessarily do "whatever they want" because then they would be out of the realm of their job description. From what I understand, there is talk about them being merged into the L.A. County Sheriff's Department.
