Hi guys.

My agency is discussing a uniforms policy dispatchers. I am looking to determine what other departments require their dispatchers to wear for a uniform, if any. Does your agency require your dispatchers to wear a full class A/class B uniform? Department issued polo Shirt w/ slacks? Simply business casual? or no uniform at all? Thanks guys!

yes

No uniform, no interaction with the public.

The police department where I work requires the dispatchers to wear an embroidered polo or long sleeve shirt with the department logo, khaki pants, and black shoes/boots. The police department I dispatch for just has an embroidered polo shirt. Both departments have alot of interaction with the public.

Deputy - approx. how much do you receive for a clothing allowance. The full uniform has been a suggestion however the price of the full uniform is the issue. We will be issuing a clothing allowance but from what I understand it will be more around the $250 range. Do your dispatchers recieve much more than that?

in waltham we have polo shirts and any type of black pants and black foot wear and we also get 250 dollars of a clothing allowance

Not trying to bump this thread but does anyone have any pics of any of their dispatchers in uniforms? Thanks to everyone who responded already!

My dept uses same uniform as officers (BDUs), and we do have interaction with the public. Annual clothing allowance of $350. I hate them and wish they would go to a more casual look. Polo with some khaki pants or something.

No uniforms, no allowances, and we'd fight to keep it that way.

no uniform requirements, casual, jeans/shirt, and interacts with public

Maroon polo with 911 triangle on left, and navy pants. Ugliest uniform I have seen. Feel bad for those guys and yup they interact with public in those clown suits.
