What would you say my chances of getting hired by these departments are?

My 1st choices are obviously WPB and PBCSO.

I have a associates degree in CJ.
30 credits shy of a BA.
Part Time/Intermittent Police Academy in MA.
3 Years of Loss Prevention/Assest Protection experience.

Just tired of the civil service BS....and I'm at the tip of my fingers to moving down to WPB area.

Hey guy, this is MASSCOPS not FLCOPS.

Ah, but it is the Beyond New England Post area.

Ford...You won't like it down here.

Yes it is 100% easier to get on a police force here. However it is twice as dangerous than Boston ever thought of being. Up there, they run away from you, down here they almost actively hunt cops. But if its what you want, go for it. As for your chances, you won;t knwo till you try. You have to come down here and pass the CJBAT which is a written and physical test. Then apply to the departments. Other than that no one can really say what your chances are without a full time academy. good luck

FordMustang,

I'm sure that "PBC FL Cop" could give you some info if you reach out. I've done some teaching down there and have a couple of contacts if you want to drop me a private message. As always, stay healthy and safe.

Mustang it's great being an officer in FL, you can do much more as an officer/deputy down there than you can in MA or New England as a whole. Too much red tape in New England. Better technology and much more to get into overall. It's in what you want and what you make of it. Good luck.

Ford,

Many Florida departments are always hiring because it is growing rapidly down here. I live in Central Florida so I can't help you much with those particular departments. You can put yourself through an academy at a junior college, so it's fairly easy as long as you put the effort in to get the academy behind you. There is some truth to the argument that it is more dangerous down here, but law enforcement in general is very different here to. More staffing, technology, political and judicial support... etc.

All agencies in PBC are hiring, so I would send applications to all of them and see who calls you first. Here are some websites which may assist you;

PBC,

Did you deliberately forget about my friends at Boynton Beach PD? lol

Stay healthy and safe!

Plan To Make About 3-4 Trips Down There For Testing, If You Can Plan It Out To Take Tests For Several Departments In One Week Would Be Suggested.
