Where the details at?

Anybody else seems to think that this year sucks on details. I'm luck to get one a a week and so do all the surrounding PDs.

we're about 90 hours behind compared to last year.

Posted by: harper

... WAAAY behind! Maybe has to do with "Govenor Devil's" cuts? Anyone else know?

I didn't realize other towns were down, we can't come close to filling ours so we've been giving a ton away. Hopefully it'll keep up.

Verizon pulling out killed us. Thanks Gov!

We need a detail officer today for second half, we have a water project that won't be done until nov or dec. Any one from the Warren area interested?

Posted by: Delta784

We're actually just starting to pick-up....this past winter was a killer.

Of course, election season = plenty of road paving projects.

I don't think you can blame Patrick for Verizon pulling out. Where are the major companies and jobs Romney promised?

Romney told us that unlike Shannon O'Brien he wouldn't have to sit in the waiting room to see a CEO about relocating to Massachusetts.

Romney spent the last two years of his term running for President and telling everyone around the country how bad Massachusetts had become.

My town is dry as hell as far as details.

You can blame your towns for Verizon pulling out. All these towns want to preserve the local cable channel for the nutjobs. They are asking for 6 figure payments and all sorts of other things.

The town I work in does not have FIOS, the town I live in does. As soon as I am up with Direct TV I will be looking at FIOS.

I will never (never say never, but you get the point) use Comcast ever again.

Are you sure you have a contract with DirectTV, I just cancelled with no real hassle and no cancellation fees...check on it.

This was a bad winter for details for our dept. The summer is dead for us. We are luck to get 2-3 details a day. There are days when nothing comes in. All the guys are hurting.

Posted by: NBC515

How many hours of detail work a week are we talking? I like to work between 12-20 hours per week as anything over I feel like I am getting raped in taxes.

Posted by: EOD1

I agree... where the hell are they. I got i called for 2 in 2 weeks. Verizon didn't come to town.... it was like Santa Clause never showed up. Of course I'm down there on the list. but 2 in 2 weeks is bad.
I want fios to be put in my town for the details... i want fios put in the town where i live cause it is supposed to be amazing.... any 1 have it?

I worked with a Verizon crew a few days ago and they re-affirmed that the fiber optic deal (at least here anyway) is dead. Will it come back? Perhaps if the folks on Beacon Hill can look past their personal gains and allow free enterprise to florish. Verizon does not want to have to negotiate with each individual city and town in the Commonwealth to provide these services. They are seeking a state wide permit to do this work. Politics, politics, politics. And yes, having Verizon pull out early H U R T real bad.........

Hell, we can barley fill our details, we have so many. Not to mention the OT we have.

Posted by: SPINMASS

We were supposed to see verizon coming through..... but that didn't happen.

Details? what is a detail. It has been a really bad year. Thanks to some surrounding Towns for throwing us a few bones I can still feed the family.

yeah i can't!!!

Sorry guys I've got guaranteed work M-F, some days we having trouble filling them. Huge Water Job, New Mall, and State Bridge refab job all at once on top of the Bay State Gas, Light Dept., and DPW.

Posted by: dcs2244

Hadley is where the details are at! Route 9 at the Coolidge Bridge, Bay Road at Route 47: Hadley PD can't fill the jobs: other towns, EPO's and troopers are filling the jobs. Route 9 is a cluster...

Posted by: SinePari

Live within your means, and you won't stress about details.

Posted by: LTJMC

if you dont live beyond your means then the lack of OT wont hurt you

Posted by: dcs2244

Too true! Details are for extras...not to fund a lifestyle!
