PALMER, MASSACHUSETTS (WWLP) A New England shoplifting spree comes to an abrupt end in western Massachusetts. These alleged shoplifters were caught red handed Sunday with $4,000 worth of merchandise from Kmart in Palmer. 22News has store surveillance video of these suspects taken just moments before their arrest. The Palmer Kmart surveillance video appears to show two people stealing thousands of dollars worth of home health care products and electronics. Police say it isn't the first time. Sgt. Scott Haley of Palmer Police said, “We have information that they have been doing stores in all of the New England area." But their alleged illegal business was shut down Sunday night when Kmart called Palmer police to tell them the thieves were back again. Police made two arrests. Police arrested 29-year-old Janet Sanchez and 20-year-old Justin Rodriguez., both of Springfield. Two other suspects are still on loose.
On Monday, the two suspects were arraigned and charged with several counts of larceny over $250, breaking and entering and resisting arrest. Justin Rodriguez is being held on $500 cash and $5,000 surety. Janet Sanchez is being held on $1,000 cash.
