(WBZ)DORCHESTER A Boston police officer shot a woman in the leg after she allegedly refused to put down a knife on Talbot Ave. in Dorchester Saturday.
According to police, the woman was trying to attack the officers. After numerous attempts to coax the woman into putting down the knife, police say an officer shot her in the leg.
The woman was taken to the hospital for treatment. The police officer who fired his weapon underwent a full medical evaluation, which is standard procedure for police officers who fire their weapons.
It is still unclear what caused the confrontation between the woman and police.
The incident is still under investigation. The identities of the woman and the officer have not been released.
