Ok, so I been talking to a recruiter from down there. He's telling me that even though the 102nd FW is moving, that security forces is staying at Otis. I had heard Otis was closing but don't know if that changed. Can anyone tell me how the SF unit is down at Otis? Is it squared away? Can I expect to actually train or just spend my days at drill sitting around? Also, are you guys still using the M-16 or have you adopted the M-4 yet? Is the unit flexible as far with guys who make law enforcement a career? Being prior Army Infantry, should I see any major differences in how things are run?

The F-15's are leaving. Otis will be an Air Force Base without airplanes. There are Air Force Bases out there without assigned aircraft. Hanscom Air Force Base is a good example. Since Otis is staying open it still needs cops.

The cops at Otis carry the M-9 and / or the M-4. The Air Force doesn't play those empty magazines game either, so you will be carrying hot with plenty of lead.

There will be days of training, days of pulling an actual shift, and days of not doing a whole lot. But you will be getting paid either way.

The squadron is fairly flexible about getting a drill weekend off. As long as you have a decent reason.
