thx

State Police Auxiliary Troopers are part-time sworn Troopers assigned throughout the state. These committed men and women assist Division members in public relation events, communications, patrol, traffic control, and select investigations.
The minimum qualifications to become an Auxiliary Trooper are the same minimum qualifications to become a Probationary Trooper. The Auxiliary Troopers must also meet the same annual training requirements as full-time Troopers.
Auxiliary Troopers are required to volunteer 16 hours each month, which is usually accomplished by patrolling with a Trooper, and attending firearms and in-service training. In 2006, Auxiliary Troopers volunteered over 700 hours of time to the New Hampshire State Police. Go to the NHSP website for min. qualifications for Trooper.

Do they get take home cars too?

No.

With 16 hours a month minimum, that's 192 hours a year per Auxiliary Trooper. At 700 hours volunteered in 2006... that equates to about three and a half Auxiliary Troopers.

yes,,doesn't look like an overly active unit.
same min qualifications..
also need to go through the full academy and need to establish residency in New Hampshire at the end of his/her probationary year of employment.

this would be difficult to leave a job for a 4 hr week voluntary position.
i got to be missing something here..lmao...

There are only a handful of them, and they are usually only activated for Motorcycle Week, NASCAR, etc. They are assigned traffic posts or ride with a full-time Trooper.

You ever worked with any of them Phuzz? Do any of them work P\T for an NH town?

I.ve known a few who worked as Auxiliaries in the past. Yes, they did work regularly for local departments and on traffic details for S.P. The position was used in at least one case I know to give state-wide authority to some officers doing some drug investigation duties etc.
Now, to my knowledge, officers assigned to special task forces like computer crimes task force are sworn as Deputy Sheriffs to expand their authority.
