MILFORD, N.H. -- An 11-year veteran of the Lowell Fire Department was arraigned this afternoon in Milford District Court after a New Hampshire cyber-crimes task force arrested him in Nashua Tuesday, charging him with trying to lure a 14-year-old into sex via the Internet.
Hillsborough County Attorney Marguerite Wageling said John Bue, 44, of 15 Sagamore Road, Nashua, was arrested in Nashua Tuesday afternoon and charged with prohibited uses of a computer.
Bue is accused of having solicited what he thought was a 14-year-old girl into sex via computer conversations. A Brookline, N.H., police detective played the part of the girl.
Milford District Court Judge Martha Crocker set bail at $1,000 and ordered Bue to have no contact with anyone under 18, except relatives, and to stay away from computers.
Bue will return to court for a probable-cause hearing on June 5.
The arrest is the latest of dozens made by the Southern Hillsborough County Cybersafe Task Force, which began operating last year.
