SPRINGFIELD, MASSACHUSETTS (WWLP) - Four Springfield men have been acquitted of murder charges stemming from a Fourth of July shooting. A Hampden County Superior Court jury found the four men not guilty Tuesday.
Patrick Bullard was gunned down on State Street in Springfield after the annual fireworks show on July 4, 2004.
Four Springfield men, Jeffrey Williams, Thomas Brown, Rayon Dancy, and James Dominguez, were all indicted for murder.
Hampden County District Attorney William Bennett said the shooting was the result of an ongoing dispute between rival gang members. DA Bennett said he is disappointed with the verdict.
No sh&t, Bennett. Perhaps you should prosecute bad guys as eagerly as you do policemen.
