If any FAMs are on this site could you please PM me. Just a question on the hiring process/ my chances of actually even getting close to being offered a job... surprised how far I've actually gotten to be honest.

Thanks in advance.

Good Luck NC....... A good friend of mine has been on for a few years...... GREAT JOB if your family and/or lifestyle allow it.

Snipe, did your friend have a military background (possible special forces?) b/c that's pretty much all that I hear about who's getting these jobs. I haven't really heard of many "civilians" getting them. Thanks for any info.

Military Police. No specialties. This was immediately following 9/11 when FAMs were advertised to the public. This is NOT a new program but was only made non-secret to ease the flying public. Not sure if the sudden increase in hiring helped him or not...... Good Luck.

i applied online, and got my conditional employment offer email an hour later. said i qualed for gs 10 grade. i just filled out the background app online as well and printed out the pat exam booklet to look over. now i guess its wait for a response. how far did u make it? i am not that excited yet as i heard they send the conditional offers out to most everyone. i too would like to hear from anyone else the is applying, applied, or actually flying the friendly skies. thanks and good luck

got the conditional offer of employment an hour after i filled out the online application. I think I only got like gr05-07. did the hooby-dooby print-'em-out, sign, and scan sheets and rifled those back to them but I haven't heard anything else at this point.

Look for funny looking guys in dress clothes running around your neighborhood asking everyone and their brother about you, what you do, what you wear... do you mow the lawn in your tighty-whities, etc. That's a good indicator that you'll hear something (yea or nay) sometime in the next month or so.

nytro, did u complete the background application on avue's site after you got your conditional offer? did those men in black really show up in your hood shortly after?

I Got My Conditional Offer Aswell And Faxed The Signed Documents Compleated The Backround Form And Its Been Almost 6 Months Now. Not Getting My Hopes Up.

Posted by: tigerwoody

maybe they are still conducting your background check? you ask any of your references if they were contacted?

Posted by: FedLawMan4525

Got my conditional, then a letter stating I started the background Investigation...then nothing, been about a year and a half now, since then I've been hired by ICE...so I know its not that I didn't pass the background lol...Also, talked to a couple FAMs, they get burned out quickly. Great for people with no families or attachments but you have to be really sure its the job you want.

Posted by: tigerwoody

Fedlaw man, how long did it take to get your letter after you faxed your signed documents? thanks for your reply

Posted by: tigerwoody

Got my fingerprint card in the mail today..... hope this is a positive sign.....have to bring it to my local PD and have them do it which is going to be a hastle.

Posted by: NytroCop

tigerwoody... how long have you been waiting again?

Posted by: tigerwoody

I applied the same time u did I think....about 2 weeks ago. its been 4 days since I signed and faxed all the docs back and I got the form 87 card this afternoon. I going to see if the bourne barracks will do the prints while I am on break tommorrow....will keep u posted

Posted by: NytroCop

Yeah, i got my prints card yesterday as well. I still live at home with my folks and this morning my mom was like hey, you got a package from...um... "ah-voo??" I looked at the package, saw Avue, and ripped it open. I'll be taking care of these tomorrow morning at the Taunton station.

Hey, good luck to ya. Where did you apply for... stupid me, I went for Boston. I think that's only for paperwork purposes. If they like you and they want you, they'll offer you a job regardless of venue.

AJ

I put Boston, if i recall they only let you choose one. I got my prints today and just got in from overnighting them. we'll see whats next

Tiger probably about a month I got my fingerprint card and all that...sent it back in...haven't heard since...I gave up on them anyways, get burned out way too fast.
