A motorist made a quick getaway when stopped by the police – he drove off in their squad car. Officers put the man in the back of their marked patrol car after pulling his Mini Cooper over in the Pollokshields area of Glasgow yesterday morning. However, when the officers were distracted he climbed into the driver's seat and drove off, abandoning the BMW a few hours later. One officer received a minor injury in the incident. Strathclyde Police said they were following a 'definite line of inquiry'.
