NEW YORK --
A former NYPD officer has admitted to teaming up with a robbery ring to steal cash and cocaine from drug dealers.
Federal prosecutors said Kirsix De La Cruz conspired with two men to steal from known stash houses and then split the proceeds.
The FBI used an informant who recorded numerous conversations De La Cruz had about plotting the robberies. In one case, police said they seized six kilograms of cocaine worth $100,000 and a handgun.
In court Wednesday, De La Cruz pleaded guilty to conspiracy to distribute cocaine and conspiracy to commit robbery.
The woman had planned to take the NYPD's sergeant's exam, but instead faces a minimum of 10 years in prison.
Sentencing was set for September 26.
De La Cruz worked with Luis German, who admitted his role earlier this year. Another alleged ring member, Markus Zianiaris, has pleaded not guilty and will go on trial in June.
