POSTED: 12:28 pm EDT May 1, 2007 UPDATED: 1:49 pm EDT May 1, 2007 NEW JERSEY -- Two men were allegedly carjacked on the New Jersey Turnpike Monday night by three men who may have been impersonating police officers by displaying silver shields around their necks, according to New Jersey state police.According to police, the alleged victims were driving a gray 2000 Toyota Avalon at around milepost 111.7 on the New Jersey Turnpike when they were stopped near the Alexander Hamilton Service Area.According to police, the alleged victims said that three men pulled up next to them in a white Ford Explorer and displayed silver shields around their necks, motioning for the alleged victims to pull over.According to police, once stopped, the three men removed the alleged victims from the car, forced them to the ground, searched them and left the scene with the Toyota Avalon.According to police, the last known direction the men headed was south on the eastern spur.
