Main Page Shots Hit Preschool Window; School Put In Lockdown

MERRIMACK, N.H. -- A Merrimack preschool and day care went into lockdown at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
The window of a classroom at Kids Inn Early Learning Center on Daniel Webster Highway was shattered by two shots from a BB gun.
"I overheard one of my kindergarten teachers say there were shots fired on the building," said Sara Boutin.
There were about two-dozen children sleeping in the room where the window was hit. Half of them were 4-year-olds.
Boutin said the two teachers in the room quickly moved children away from the windows and out of the room.
"Some of our children were sleeping, and we had to scoop them up and literally carry them and their mats into another classroom," said Boutin.
Police traced the shots to a neighboring apartment house. Inside they detained a 13-year-old boy and seized a BB rifle along with BBs and pellets.
Police said it was unclear what the boy might have been aiming at.
Officers later discovered the BBs penetrated the first pane of glass in the window but did not break through the next layer.
The boy who police detained was scheduled to be in juvenile court on Thursday morning.

Not to down play what the kid did but Vhrist the way they acted on tv youd of thunk the kid went in there with an AK47!
