An Allston man was charged yesterday with hitting an 81-year-old homeless man while driving with a suspended license Friday in Boston. Juan C. Gonzalez, 46, was charged with leaving the scene of an accident and operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license for the second time, according to the Suffolk district attorney's office. He was ordered held on $2,500 cash bail and is to return to court May 3. At about 3:30 p.m. Friday, police said, they found a man struck by a car at the intersection of Harrison Avenue and East Berkeley Street. Witnesses told officials that a green Ford Taurus traveling south on Harrison Avenue hit the man as he tried to cross the street in the crosswalk, the district attorney's office said. The driver saw the victim on the ground and fled on foot up East Berkeley, the district attorney's office said. The victim was taken to Boston Medical Center with a fractured shoulder.
