By Patriot Ledger staff QUINCY - A 21-year-old Weymouth man has been charged with attempted murder after a stabbing, police said.
Cesar Valle, of 33 May Terrace, pleaded innocent yesterday in Quincy District Court, Capt. John Dougan said.
Mitchell Taylor, 22, of Quincy, was taken to Boston Medical Center after the incident. Information about his condition was not available today.
The stabbing occurred at about 6 p.m. Friday outside 184 Elm St.
Valle and Mitchell are acquaintances, Dougan said.
A witness told police that the two were fighting when Valle got a knife from his car and stabbed Mitchell in the abdomen.
According to the witness, Mitchell then attempted to run into the house and Valle stabbed him in the back, Dougan said.
Valle then got into his car and fled the scene, the witness said.
Police were given a description of Valle’s car and a license plate number, and police later stopped the vehicle on Quincy Avenue, Dougan said. A knife was found in the car, and Valle was arrested.
Dougan said Valle was charged with attempted murder; assault and battery by means of dangerous weapon, a knife; and assault and battery.
He was ordered held on $2,500 cash bail at the Dedham jail.
