Dose anyone have the inside scoop on hireling in Natick? I heard that there were going to be a couple of retirements soon; if not already. What are the odds that the town will make it past the vets on the list?

Carlos Mencia says "Dee - Dee - Dee"

Very top heavy department and brass rides your ass non-stop. Lots of details, OT and opportunity to make $$$ but shitty place, lots of the guys looking at lateraling out.

Thanks.
Maybe a few will take the opportunity to transfer to Boston.

You speak as though you know first hand? Natick is a good town to work in, yes there has been one Retirement of a Sgt. in the past week. Thats it. No one else is slated to give up the reigns yet. If you want to make it on take the upcoming test. Its not a bad department, good equipment, great $$ its like any place else. Good and bad. There were only 2 officers looking to lateral out last time i checked and they didnt like it there since they were rookies.

I know of one- they tend to hire recruits who can spell.

I really like the town and with all that I hear about the availability of OT it would have been a great place to start. Unfortunately with the way Civil Service is I won’t have residency after upcoming test. I need a few more than two openings to get on there before the new list. I am looking forward to the next test though.
