A bloody night in the Hub left two people clinging to life and three others hospitalized after two separate attacks in Dorchester and East Boston.
Three men in their mid- to late 20s were shot in front of 6 Armandine St. in Dorchester at about 8:40 p.m, police said. Police spokeswoman Elaine Driscoll said two people were taken to Boston Medical Center, and one remained in critical condition. Another man was transported to Brigham and Women’s Hospital.
Driscoll said cops are questioning several people in connection with the shooting, and they are appealing to the public for information from anyone who was in that area of Dorchester last night.
Forty-five minutes later, at 9:25 p.m., cops got called to the scene of another attack in East Boston. A suspect shot a victim once in the chest and allegedly struck another in the back of the head with a blunt object, reportedly a hatchet.
Both victims, who knew each other and were inside an apartment on Marion Street, are in their early 20s, said Boston police Superintendent John Gallagher. Gallagher said witnesses were being interviewed.
He said the shooting victim, who lives at the apartment, is expected to survive, while the other victim’s condition was more serious. Homicide investigators were on the scene last night.
