State Police Golf Cart

I was walking up State St. in Boston this morning, and here comes a state police golf cart? I had to do a double take, but it was pretty cool though. Where is that ride stationed? It said state police on the front of it, and it actually had a license plate on the back.

If you looked closer, you would have seen our esteemed Govenor riding in the passenger seat. It's an electric cart so it balances out the Caddilac DTS in respect to carbon emissions. It's just Devals way of making a smaller greenhouse footprint on the planet.

When my MPOC class did EVOC up at Ft Devens, the MSP had a handfull of those bad larrys up there. They were all labeled "Donated by Rodman Ford" on them....... Don Rodman is a VERY generous guy....... Known the family for YEARS.

haven't seen the golf carts , but i did see one guy come out of the chinatown registry in a wheelchair with a large MSP sticker and blue lights.

had a handicap van and it was quite the rig. maybe a retired trooper i'm guessing ?

They originally were used for the DNC...now they are used by various units for light transport...or by commissioned officers for golf.

The DNC keeps on giving

As cool as they may be, people didn't take to kindly to me driving in the passing lane with it.
And merging on/off the highways takes practice.

When u see that golf cart and you're working a special event, it usually means free donated food/water. Surprisingly one of the best roast beef sandwiches I ever had was given to me by a statie on a golf cart at the esplanade for the 4th fireworks. Then he made some wise ass comment about fattening up boston cops, but I was too hungry to come up with a highway security or a AAA with guns comeback....plus he probably would have taken my sandwich back.

A regular, and a HUGE fan, we figure...why not make him happy. Remember "Buddy" from Brighton Court? He was a mentally challenged individual who had a winter cover and a blizzard coat. Wore em year round, would sit in court all day dressed up. It made him happy, so what the hell...

Sadly, he was committed after his dad died. Never heard any further, that was about 18-20 years ago.
