SPRINGFIELD, MASSACHUSETTS (WWLP) - A 70-year-old pedestrian and a 29-year-old motorcyclist remain in critical condition after accidents in Springfield. They were injured in separate Springfield traffic accidents, but they have one thing in common. Springfield Police Sergeant Thomas Long said both accidents involved a hit and run driver.

Twenty-four-year-old Jose del Carmen was arrested at his Chestnut Street home several hours after his car allegedly hit 70-year-old Isaac Richardson on Belmont Avenue. The driver who hit 29-year-old Derrick White's bike at a downtown intersection allegedly ran away.

Sergeant Long is looking for witnesses. Anyone who can shed light on either mishap is urged to call the Springfield Traffic Bureau at 787-6333 between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.
